How to enable Wi-Fi calling on your Apple Device

Background

The Wi-Fi calling feature on your mobile device allows you to make and receive phone calls on your Apple mobile device over the Wi-Fi when you find yourself in an area with little cellular coverage.

Before You Begin

Ensure you are logged into the Wi-Fi network.  See our article on  How to Connect to The Wi-Fi on your Apple Device for more.

Enabling Wi-Fi Calling on your Apple device

  1. Locate the Settings application on your Apple Device. This is the gear-shaped icon on your mobile device. You can swipe down and type Settings in the search bar.

  2. Select the Mobile option from the settings list. Alternatively, you can search Mobile on the search bar inside the Settings app.

  3. Next, select Wi-Fi Calling

  4. Then slide the toggle button to the right. You will know it is enabled if it is green.

  5. The Settings app will then prompt you to confirm the enabling the Wi-Fi Calling. Please click the Enable button and your Apple mobile device will be enabled for Wi-Fi calling.

  6. You have successfully enabled Wi-Fi calling.
