Background
This knowledge base article is to ensure that staff working remotely can easily access and navigate the Cisco Jabber application on their iPhone to receive work-related calls and voicemails.
Before You Begin
- Ensure you are logged into the Wi-Fi network. See our article on How to Connect to Wi-Fi on your Apple device for more.
- Ensure Microsoft Authenticator setup is completed -See our article on How to set up Microsoft Authenticator for more.
- Ensure you have your Best Bar email address and password.
Download Jabber through The App Store
- Please find the App Store on your device.
- Once in the App Store please search for Cisco Jabber.
- Download Jabber and open it. The icon looks like this.
Set Up Jabber On Your Device
- Locate the Cisco Jabber mobile app on your device.
- Click on the icon to open the Cisco Jabber mobile app.
PLEASE NOTE: Your iPhone will notify you of a series of privacy-related popup messages.- "Jabber" Would Like to Access Your Contacts - Click on the OK button.
- Would You Like to Use "Jabber" with Siri? - Click on the OK button.
- "Jabber" Would Like to Send You Notifications - Click on the Allow button.
- "Jabber" Would Like to Access Your Contacts - Click on the OK button.
- Click on the Accept button for Cisco Jabber End User License Agreement, Terms of Service, and Privacy Notice
- Swipe from the right to the left side for the About Jabber information step. Click on the Get Started Now button at the end of the step.
- Click on the OK button for "Jabber" Would Like to Access the Microphone pop-up messages.
- Enter your company email address and click on the Continue button under the Sign In step.
- Click on the email address and replace it with your username and click on the Sign In button under Enter your username and password for CUCM IM and Presence or Phone Services step. You have now successfully signed into the CISCO Jabber Application.
PLEASE NOTE: Your iPhone will notify you of a series of privacy and instructional-based popup messages.- Cisco Jabber asks you to check your notification settings - Click on the OK button.
- Face ID Authentication - Click on the Yes button.
- Do you want to allow "Jabber" to use Face ID?-Click on the OK button.
- Availability status change notification - Click on the DONE button.
- Cisco Jabber asks you to check your notification settings - Click on the OK button.
