How to Use TeamViewer (Full Version)

Background

Teamviewer is used to help us remotely connect to another computer. This can be for the purpose of training new individuals in your organisation remotely or for the purpose of identifying and repairing problems on another computer.

Before You Begin

• Ensure to check the computer version.  See our article on  How to Tell If You Have a 64-Bit or 32-Bit Computer for more.

Steps to follow

1. Go to the TeamViewer website   https://www.teamviewer.com. 
2. Click the Download button on the top of the website.
   
   
3. Select your computer version button. For this example, the computer version is 64bit.
   
   
4. The setup file will automatically start to download into your computer.
   
   
5. Follow the instructions from How to Install Teamviewer to set up Teamviewer.
   

How to Install TeamViewer

1. Please click the setup file downloaded from your browser in order to start the installing step of Teamviewer. You can also find the file inside your  PC  under Downloads.
   
   PLEASE NOTE: Follow these steps to go to Downloads

   1. Select File Explorer from the taskbar, or press the Windows logo key  + E.

   2. Under Quick access, select Downloads.
      

      
      
      

2. Select Default Installation under How do you want to proceed? and click on the  Accept - next button in order to navigate to the next page.
   
   
3. If you then get a user account control popup like this, click yes to continue. The installation process will start after that.
   
   
   
4. Click the check box to accept the Team Viewer EULA and the DPA click on the  Continue button. This will finish the installation and open up Teamviewer.
   
   
5. You have successfully completed the TeamViewer setup process.
   

How to Remotely Connect TeamViewer

With Teamviewer, we can give access to a user to remotely control your computer or you can gain access to control another person's computer using their credentials.

1. To make a connection with another computer
   1. Install Teamviewer  Full Version on your computer.
      
      
   2. Enter the TeamViewer ID of the computer you are trying to connect under the  Control Remote Computer and click on the Connect button.
      
      
   3. Teamviewer will then ask for the password from the remote computer you are trying to connect.
      
      
   4.  Enter the password for the computer you are trying to connect to and click on the Log On button.
      
      
   5. Teamviewer will successfully connect to the remote computer.
      
      
2. To give access to a remote connection.
   1.  Please provide your TeamViewer ID and Password to the user trying to connect to your computer. This will allow the remote user access to your computer.
      
      

   2. The user has successfully gained access to your computer.
