How to Set Your Default Program on Your PC

This knowledge base article provides a step-by-step guide on how to change your default Program for different file types.

Before You Begin

• Ensure you have installed your preferred program on your PC. (For this example we will try to change the default PDF Reader from Foxit to Foxit Phantom).
  
  

How to select the Default Application

1. Locate the file you need to change.
   
   
   
2. Right-click a PDF file, and then choose Properties.
   
   
   
3. In the file's Properties dialog box, click Change.
   
   
   

4. Select Foxit Phantom from the list of applications and then click on the OK button.
   
   

   
   

5. In the Properties dialog box, click on the Apply button and then the OK button.
   
   
   

   After these steps, you can notice that all your PDF files on your computer are now changed into the Foxit Phantom Logo with purple colors.
