Add Something

Background

The structure of the Stocktake App is shown in the diagram below, beginning with the home screen and ending at the count screen. Creating something new from any given place takes you to the next place in the direction of the arrow and creates a new item.

You can create something new in the Stocktake App from most places in the Stocktake App. The way you can create something depends on the section type you are in. There are two place types – list places and details places.

Before you begin

• You are someplace in the Stocktake App.

Steps to take

List places

Creating something in a list place creates something of the same type. For example, if you are on the Sections screen, creating something new will create a new section. Take the following step to create something from a list place.

1. Tap on the add button (plus symbol inside a circle, located towards the top of the screen.)
   
   

   You are taken to the next details place, a new item is created and is ready to edit.
   

   
   

Details places

Creating something in a details place creates something of the following place type. For example, if you are on the Section screen, creating something new will create a new count in the section. You are taken you directly to the new item, stepping over a list place. Take the following step to create something from a details place.

1. Tap on the add button (plus symbol inside a circle, located towards the top of the screen) or tap on the Add… button (located in the Actions section.)
   
   

   You are taken to the next details place (skipping over a list place), a new item is created and is ready to edit.
