How to Create a Team in Microsoft Teams

Before you begin

• Ensure you have installed and are logged into Microsoft Teams on your computer. See our article How to Install Microsoft Office if you don't have Teams.
  
  

Steps to follow

1. Select Teams on the menu.
   
   
2. Click Join or create a team at the bottom of the screen.
   
   
3. Choose the Create a team card then click on the Create team button.
   
   
4. Choose the option that fits your needs but for this article, select From scratch.
   
   
5. Choose what kind of team this will be. To limit the conversation to a select audience, select Private.
   
6. Add a team name (and description too.) Once a name is given, the Create button is enabled. Click on Create.
   
   
7. Once the team is created, start adding members to the group.
   
   
8. Once you're done adding members, select Close.
